Imagine investing in something that would guarantee not only a positive return, but a huge positive return on our investment. If such a return was guaranteed, one would be a fool to not invest. When we invest our lives in God, He will not only give us back our investment, but much more.
We have many assets that we can invest. We have our money, our time, and our talent. Are we spending our money on ourselves to impress others or are we being prudent with it and giving what we can to those people and organizations in need? Do we invest our time in doing what we want to do or what others need and want us to do? We don’t all have to be like Mother Theresa, but she definitely showed what it means to give of our time to others. Finally, do we make the most of our talents and use them to build up the kingdom of God or do we use them only to get ourselves further in life?
We should always be humble and realize how infinitely small and weak we are compared to the vastness of the universe. Despite being so small and weak, God lifts us up above all of creation because of His love for us. God takes our contribution to Him no matter how small and multiplies it.
When we invest in ourselves, we may get what we desire and be very happy for the short term. When we invest in God, we are taking away some of our short term Earthly pleasures, and investing in our future. We should all have the desire to become saints. By making regular investments in God, we will find that dream a reality and achieve eternal happiness with God in heaven.
