God blesses the world with a diverse multitude of talented people. When everyone contributes their talent, the world becomes a better place. Not only should we each contribute to society through our profession, we should also use our various talents to bring people to a closer relationship with God. We not only have the ability to help others enjoy this life more, we also can help make someone’s eternal life better.
Many people tend to do as little as possible and need an incentive to do extra work. I think we all have this mindset to an extent. Not many people like to work for free and most would rather not exert extra energy or brain power if they don’t have to. However, there is plenty of incentive when it comes to working to bring people closer to God. Helping a soul experience eternal happiness is beyond measure. When we get to Heaven, we will be able to see all the lives we have touched and how we have made a positive difference in the lives of others.
I can already point to many different people who have helped bring me closer to God. Someone doesn’t have to be a celebrity with many followers to make a difference. I’ve had regular people help me grow in my faith, just by me observing how they live their life and through their good example. I’ve been able to see a little bit of Jesus through my interactions with many different people. We should each try to show others an aspect of Jesus through the interactions we have with them. How can the world grow to know and love Jesus if we don’t show Jesus to the world?
God has given each of us talents and we will be judged on how we use them. Do we use them for selfish purposes or do we bury our talent and not use it at all? When we use our talents to help others see God, then those people can better direct their talents to help even more grow closer to God as well. It’s like a snowball rolling down a hill that gets bigger and bigger.
We will never be able to repay God for all that He has given us, but we can shower Him with our love and help others to do the same. This is the best gift that we can give God. Let’s all work on using our talents to spread love. When we spread love, the world will be able to better see the Father of all love and grow closer to Him.
